Tiffany Stratton is undoubtedly going to be in the running for WWE superstar of the year 2025. Ex-WWE writer Vince Russo praised her, but pointed out one major issue that she has, which isn't her fault.
On the final episode of BroDown, host Mac Davis asked Vince Russo about who he believes is the WWE superstar of the year 2025. Russo said that since he doesn't believe anyone has thrived this year, the question is more about who has done the most with what they were given.
After naming Drew McIntyre and Solo Sikoa in that category, Vince Russo praised Tiffany Stratton on the Women's side and said that her unnatural promos aren't her fault because nobody backstage in WWE has told her otherwise:
"I think Tiffany Stratton has worked her a** off. I think she's worked really hard. But even that character and her promos - she needs somebody working with her."John Cena's last opponent leaked? Check here!
The issue seemed to be regarding "wrestling conversation", which is a problem Vince Russo believes Stratton (and other WWE stars) has. The idea of a "wrestling conversation" can be described using any backstage vignette or in-ring promo where an interaction between two feuding superstars doesn't sound like a real-life argument. Instead, it sounds like an unnatural, overly-scripted interaction, which takes away any ability to suspend one's disbelief when watching wrestling.
Russo continued and blasted WWE for the state of RAW and SmackDown right now:
"That's all RAW and SmackDown is - it's wrestling bulls**t. Nobody is standing there saying, 'nobody would ever have a conversation like that'. That's a wrestling conversation. And that's kind of Tiffany. And nobody has told her that's now how you would really react, what you would really say, that wouldn't be your delivery. Nobody told her that."You can watch the full video below:
Tiffany Stratton had one of the best runs in WWE in 2025
There are very few superstars in WWE who have had the year that Tiffany Stratton did in 2025. For ten months, she dominated the SmackDown women's division. There was some criticism online that, for a good part of that title reign, Stratton only feuded with Nia Jax and Jade Cargill. Regardless, the power of hindsight may work in Stratton's favor.
Reflecting on the year Stratton had, it's not hard to see how dominant she has truly been. As per Cagematch.net, Tiffany Stratton had a record of 20-2 at televised shows this year. This includes SmackDown and Premium Live Events. She began the year by winning the WWE Women's Championship on SmackDown, cashing in on Nia Jax in what was undeniably one of the best moments of 2025.
Since then, she has run through various opponents, from veterans like Bayley and Candice LeRae to other stars like Chelsea Green, Kiana James, Piper Niven, Roxanne Perez, and more. The two biggest victories she picked up along the way were undeniably against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 41 and against Trish Stratus at Evolution 2025. Her undefeated streak was snapped by Stephanie Vaquer, and Jade Cargill added to that number most recently at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Stratton isn't going away any time soon and will likely be a huge player in the women's division for years to come, with accolades more than likely following her through the years.
