Aaron Judge and Juan Soto batted back to back en route to the World Series last fall.
This weekend was the first chance for the superstars from the Yankees and Mets to match up against one another after Soto left for the crosstown rival.
Each team found a way to win against the other this weekend, but the Yanks got the last laugh with a victory on Sunday Night Baseball.
Afterward, Judge shared with reporters a bit of the message he gave to Soto, who unlike Judge's pursuit of a .400 average has not gotten off to a blazing start to the season.
"Just said hello to him, I hadn't seen him all series," Judge said of their pregame interaction on Sunday. "Just kind of wishing him the best, kind of said, 'Hey man, you're the best in the game. Things like this are gonna happen, just keep playing your game."
That's very thoughtful.

Judge and Soto appeared to genuinely enjoy each other's brilliance during the 2024 season.
It's never been fully uncovered why Soto left the Bronx for the Mets, with money and the future of the respective teams both thought of as at least partial reasons. But it doesn't really matter at this point.
Soto no longer wears pinstripes, and it was a brutal weekend for him, getting heckled by fans the entire time.

At least Judge understands a tiny bit of what Soto might be going through as a superstar in an opposing ballpark, although he wouldn't quite get the traitor vibes that Yankees fans were bestowing on Soto.
Still, it's nice to see Judge delivering a kind message to his former teammate.
