We may have been forced to say goodbye to a few of our favorite network shows — The Rookie, Grey’s Anatomy, Fire Country, and Will Trent are all on hiatus — but there’s still plenty of TV to watch on Sunday night.
HBO offers new episodes of The Last of Us and Nathan Fielder’s unpredictable joyride The Rehearsal (not to mention Hacks!), and we’re still binge-watching The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2 (Hulu), Benito Skinner’s sensational new college comedy Overcompensating on Prime Video, and The Four Seasons on Netflix.
Unfortunately, Dark Winds isn’t on our list. Graham Roland’s popular psychological thriller recently aired its third season finale. What does the future have in store for Dark Winds? Will there be a Season 4? Here’s everything you need to know.

That’s a negative. The Season 3 finale premiered April 27 on AMC.

The third season consists of eight episodes.

Has Dark Winds Been Renewed For Season 4?
Yes! In February 2025, AMC renewed Dark Winds for a fourth season. The season will consist of eight episodes, and production is already underway in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The fourth season is scheduled to debut on AMC and AMC+ in 2026.
“When we greenlit the first season of Dark Winds, we saw the potential for an authentic and long-running franchise that could live alongside the worlds we were building around The Walking Dead and Anne Rice,” President of Entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks Dan McDermott said in a statement.
“That is exactly what this cast and creative team delivered, and the fans have responded. It starts with Tony Hillerman’s unforgettable novels, cared for and attended to by a producing team that includes the likes of Robert Redford, George R. R. Martin, Chris Eyre and our showrunner John Wirth, and — at the center of everything — the truly extraordinary Zahn McClarnon and the entire cast. Fans have embraced this series on AMC/ AMC+ and made it a top 10 show on Netflix for a solid month last fall. There is so much great storytelling yet to come in these expanded third and fourth seasons.”

Will Dark Winds Season 3 Be On Netflix?
As of now, we don’t know if the third season of Dark Winds will find its way to Netflix. The first two seasons of Dark Winds premiered in August 2024 on the streamer as part of the Netflix/AMC streaming deal. But that deal is only for one year.
While there’s no official information regarding if/when Season 3 will be added to the streaming giant, we do know that the new episodes won’t be on Netflix anytime soon.
The Season 2 finale of Dark Winds aired on September 3, 2023, and debuted on Netflix almost a year later. Again, we have no official info, but if the third season does find its way to Netflix, it probably won’t be until mid-to-late 2026.
