Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently spoke about Brock Lesnar's retirement rumors. There have been rumors about The Beast hanging up his boots next year.
While the WWE Universe is still reeling from John Cena's farewell tour, 2026 could be Brock Lesnar's last year in the ring. Several rumors have been circulating that the 48-year-old star could retire at SummerSlam next year. The biggest event of the summer will be in Minneapolis, which could be the perfect stage for Brock to end his career.
On a recent episode of Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the veteran manager questioned why Brock would want to retire from the business. He pointed out that The Beast was on a part-time schedule anyway. He noted that with the discontinuation of live events, WWE has eased up on its weekly schedule. Mantell recalled how superstars back in the day had to be constantly on the road, making several appearances throughout the week, including multiple shows on weekends.
"Well, I don't know why he's gotta retire. The schedule that WWE has now is nothing like it used to be. Literally nothing. We used to go through some weeks, you may have gotten into a ring not necessarily to wrestle that much, but you may have gotten into a ring eight to nine or ten times a week. You'd have double headers on Saturday, Saturday afternoon matinee show, they would call it. Then you'd have a Saturday night show. And then Sunday, you'd have a matinee show at about 3 o'clock. Then get right in your car, drive somewhere else, and then you would have another show. Then get in the car, drive to the town where Monday Night Raw would be, and they ran you like a dog."Triple H spoke about Brock Lesnar's last match
Brock Lesnar put on an impressive performance at Survivor Series: WarGames, helping his team get the win.
After the show, Triple H commented that Brock was a huge legend and people were already booking fantasy matches of The Beast facing Oba Femi.
"Just watching Oba Femi walk out there, there's a lot of people you want to see him go with. I think that's the wonderful thing about NXT. You get to fantasy book these people when they get here, what can they accomplish and achieve. Not everybody is gonna take that giant leap to that place immediately. But Oba is one of those guys. You're talking about Brock Lesnar, the ultimate destroyer in the business, and already there's a comparison to him walking in the door. That is incredible."He detailed that Femi was a talented star, and there could be an argument made that he would be the perfect last opponent for Brock Lesnar.
