Piers Morgan has reacted to the US Department of Justice's shocking claim about Jeffrey Epstein's files. The DOJ reported on Wednesday, December 24, that they had discovered over a million more documents in the controversial files.

The DOJ had released a few documents related to Jeffrey Epstein on December 19 after Congress passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act. However, many criticized it, claiming that some information was redacted to protect the US President, Donald Trump, allegedly.

Amidst this, the US Department of Justice revealed that they have discovered over a million more documents. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), they wrote:

"The US Attorney for the Southern District of New York and the FBI have informed the Department of Justice that they have uncovered over a million more documents potentially related to the Jeffrey Epstein case. The DOJ has received these documents from SDNY and the FBI to review them for release, in compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, existing statutes, and judicial orders."

They explained that the files may take a few weeks to be released to their volume, adding:

"We have lawyers working around the clock to review and make the legally required redactions to protect victims, and we will release the documents as soon as possible. Due to the mass volume of material, this process may take a few more weeks. The Department will continue to fully comply with federal law and President Trump’s direction to release the files."

British journalist Piers Morgan reacted to this post with a two-word reply, writing:

"Sorry, WHAT?!!!!!"

Notably, before releasing these files, the DOJ works towards removing or hiding information that might reveal details about the victims. They also look for information regarding national security in these files.

While the DOJ released thousands of files related to Jeffrey Epstein on December 19, it faced immense criticism. This is because there was plenty of redaction in these documents, which also didn't contain the name of Donald Trump. Many Republicans and Democrats have urged the DOJ to release the entire files.

Piers Morgan also shared his thoughts on this via an X post on December 20, writing:

"Memo to the Trump administration: the longer you drag out the Epstein files, and the more of it you heavily redact, the worse this scandal will get. What we’re seeing now, as many of your own supporters are saying, is the opposite of the ‘full transparency’ you promised."

The DOJ's latest statement about the discovery of an additional million documents has garnered further backlash. Robert Garcia, representative of California, said:

“It’s outrageous that the D.O.J. has illegally withheld over one million documents from the public.”

Meanwhile, New York's Senator, Chuck Schumer, wrote in an X post:

"Justice delayed is justice denied. Release the files. Follow the law."

He also alleged that the redacted files and the DOJ's statement hint at Donald Trump's involvement with the late pedophile. Meanwhile, the files released on December 19 contain some big names like Bill Gates, Mick Jagger, and Bill Clinton, among others.
