A veteran made a worrying claim regarding Darby Allin's future in pro wrestling after his match at AEW Worlds End 2025. The veteran also explained what makes Darby a star.
The veteran wrestling journalist, Dave Meltzer expressed concern regarding the former AEW TNT Champion, Darby Allin. Ever since joining All Elite Wrestling in 2019, Darby has made a name for himself by taking a lot of risks in the ring to the point of even risking his life sometimes. He recently returned after being hospitalized for weeks due to injury.
At Worlds End 2025, Darby squared off against Gabe Kidd in his in-ring return. The match was brutal, and both competitors were bleeding for a large part of the encounter. As fans worry about Darby's safety due to his risk-taking, Dave Meltzer made a worrisome claim about the daring star's future.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer claimed that Darby will continue taking risks in the ring until his body doesn't let him. Dave also claimed that Allin's daring style makes him a star:
"Every Darby match is hard to watch. If he wasn't like this he probably wouldn't be anywhere near a star as he is, unfortunately. He's going to be doing this until his body doesn't let him. That's just Darby Allin. That's why he's really popular," Meltzer stated.Speaking of his match at Worlds End 2025, Darby managed to secure the win over Gabe Kidd after a barbaric battle.
Darby Allin was replaced in the AEW Contiental Classic
Daby Allin was participating in the 2025 Continental Classic tournament. However, he suffered an injury during his first Gold League match against Kevin Knight and had to be hospitalized. It was later announced that Darby has been replaced by his former rival, Jack Perry, who earned 6 points but couldn't reach the semi-final.
Nevertheless, Dabry returned to action just after a month, and it remains to be seen what's next for him.
