The GTA Online winter event 2025 wrapped up way faster than expected, and it didn't end quietly. It started with a post from trusted GTA leaker Tex2 (formerly Tez2), who pointed out that snow and Snowmen collectibles have been disabled across San Andreas.

With GTA 6 now delayed to November 2026, changes like this have players wondering if Rockstar is quietly changing how seasonal events work going forward, or just reacting to player feedback. Read on to learn more about this.

GTA Online winter event 2025 snow removal explained

According to information shared by Tex2 on X, both snowfall and Snowmen collectibles have been completely disabled. That shuts down one of the main activities tied to the winter event. Normally, players could hunt down 25 Snowmen scattered across San Andreas, each one making a looping sleigh bell sound when you get within about 75 meters. Destroying all of them was part of the seasonal routine for many players.

This time, that hunt is over. Snowmen are gone, snow is gone, and visibility is back to normal, especially noticeable if you're flying aircraft. For some players, that's a relief. Flying helicopters and jets during snowfall has always been rough, with reduced visibility making even basic travel annoying.

However, the Gooch event is still live, and the Happy Holidays Hauler is still driving around the map. One notable disappearance alongside the snow is the Buckingham SuperVolito Carbon, which was previously available for free during the event window and is now no longer claimable.

Only one week of snow on GTA Online winter event 2025

Compared to past years, the GTA Online winter event 2025 feels unusually short. Players only got about a week of snow before it was removed completely. In previous years, snow often stuck around for closer to two weeks, sometimes longer.

There's been plenty of community talk suggesting that Rockstar might be reacting to complaints from players who don't like snow affecting driving, flying, and mission gameplay.
