Filming for Anaconda began in January 2025 and concluded late in February in Queensland, Australia. The production team chose this location because the tropical rainforests in Australia resemble those in South America. Most of the filming happened around the Gold Coast and at Village Roadshow Studios in Oxenford.

Local landmarks also appear in the movie to create a beautiful jungle setting. Some of these places include Tamborine Mountain, the Gold Coast hinterland, and Purling Brook Falls. Filming in Queensland added about $40 million to the local economy and created hundreds of jobs for people living in the area.

During the shoot, the cast and crew faced a few challenges as working in a rainforest meant dealing with high heat and humidity. Some reports even mentioned that the actors encountered real spiders and snakes while working. In an interview with Bloody Disgusting, Thandiwe Newton, who plays Claire Simons in the film said:

“I actually saw the biggest spider I’ve ever seen in my life on the set, and no one was with me.”
