The Golden State Warriors have made a recent signing official.
On Sunday, the Warriors officially signed a 6-foot-11 ex-Oklahoma City Thunder and Miami Heat center to assist Stephen Curry.
“The Warriors have signed center Ömer (oh-MIAR) Yurtseven (yurts-seven) to a 10-day contract,” the franchise announced Sunday. “
“Yurtseven has appeared in three games (all starts) with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers this season, averaging 23.0 points on 56.9% shooting from the field, 13.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 29.7 minutes per game. The 6’11” center originally signed with the Vipers on Mar. 4, 2026.”
Before joining the Warriors, Yurtseven had 113 games of NBA experience under his belt (65 with the Heat and 48 with the Jazz.
There’s no question that the Georgetown product’s stint with the Heat was far more memorable, as he was a part of the 2022-23 Heat team that shockingly defeated the Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks, and Boston Celtics to advance to the NBA Finals.
Although Yurtseven didn’t log a second during that year’s postseason, it’s still beneficial that the 27-year-old has valuable championship experience at this stage of his career. Yurtseven has appeared in two games with the Dubs so far, contributing 1.0 points and 2.0 rebounds per game in 7.5 minutes.
Yurtseven still has a few more days remaining on his contract to prove that he’s worth another deal with the seven-time NBA champions.
