The New Orleans Saints finished last in the NFC South in 2025, but there is a lot of optimism for the future of the team after Tyler Shough's breakout to finish the year.
With a quarterback now found and the Saints spending on Travis Etienne Jr., the only need left is another wide receiver to pair with Chris Olave. While the NFL Draft is a great opportunity to find a new WR, the trade market isn't a terrible option either.
That WR need is why Sports Illustrated's Mike Kadlick is urging the Saints to swing a trade for a developmental WR from the Buffalo Bills in 404-yard WR Keon Coleman. After falling out of favor in Buffalo, Coleman makes a lot of sense for the Saints.
Saints urged to trade for Keon Coleman
"Enter the Saints, who could use a developmental No. 2 target behind Chris Olave for second-year quarterback Tyler Shough to work and grow with," Kadlick writes.
Coleman, after falling out of favor in Buffalo following a rough 2025 season, featuring multiple benchings and some poor play resulting in a 404-yard receiving season, is a top trade candidate.
Kadlick is linking the Saints to a Coleman trade in his article on "6 NFL trades we still want to see happen this offseason." Coleman to the Saints is one of the six mentioned trades.
While Coleman, the 2024 second-round WR, didn't have the best season for the Bills in 2025, he could be in need of a change of scenery.

If he comes to the Saints, and can develop alongside Shough, and have other WRs on the roster in Olave, Devaughn Vele, and potentially an early rookie WR draft pick, he could have a lot less stressful time than what he would face in Buffalo.
Coleman is still 22 years old and would be a worthwhile pickup for the Saints. After a rough 2025 for the Bills, he won't cost too much for the Saints to acquire either.
This is a perfect buy-low opportunity for the Saints, as they could land a WR that's fallen out of favor with the team that drafted him two years ago for very cheap.
Coleman is young and is still under contract on his rookie deal for two more seasons. If this costs the Saints a fifth, or even a fourth-round pick, it would be a worthwhile flyer to take on someone who was drafted 33rd overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.
