Deion Sanders Jr. is likely referring to the past couple of months for the Sanders family. They've endured Shedeur falling to the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft and Shilo Sanders going undrafted in the same draft.
Furthermore, the Colorado Buffaloes, as coached by their dad, will not play in a bowl game this season. That's because the Buffaloes suffered a loss against the Wildcats. It's the second time in three years that Deion Sanders' Buffaloes won't be featuring in a 13th game.
Shedeur Sanders named as QB2 for Browns Week 10 game
On the bright side, Shedeur Sanders has officially been named the backup quarterback for the Cleveland Browns' Week 10 game against the New York Jets. The Colorado Buffaloes product will back up fellow rookie shot caller Dillon Gabriel in Sunday's contest against the 1-7 Jets.
Sanders makes a return after he was inactive for the Browns' Week 8 loss to the New England Patriots due to a back injury. He'll be the next player up if Dillon Gabriel is unable to continue due to an injury or the coach's decision.
Sanders is still waiting for his NFL debut. The 2024 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award winner started the season as QB4, but he's steadily climbed the depth chart to become the priority backup. He's now one step away from being Deion Sanders' first child to play in the NFL.
The Browns need a spark as they're 2-6 entering their Week 10 game against the Jets. Kevin Stefanski's side hasn't made the postseason since 2023, and they'll have their work cut out if they're to break the streak in the ongoing campaign.
