Lewis Hamilton criticized the FIA stewards after the governing body penalized him with a five-second time penalty at the recently concluded Brazil GP. Hamilton, after receiving the penalty, blasted the officials on team radio as he endured yet another tough race.

F1 was in Brazil for the 21st race weekend of the season. The country, being one of Hamilton's most favourite ones, did not turn out to be one to remember this time around. After Saturday's underwhelming qualifying, Sunday's race was yet another disaster for the seven-time world champion.

Having started his race from P13, the British driver made contact with several cars in Lap 4 of the race. However, his collision with Franco Colapinto of Alpine created all the difference, as he was slapped with a five-second time penalty for causing a collision.

As the Briton received the penalty, he took to his team radio to share his frustration. Here's what the Ferrari driver said:

"These guys are a joke. A complete joke.”

As a consequence of the penalty, Lewis Hamilton rejoined the grid in P18, and after a few races, he retired. Hamilton was running in the last position, that too with a damaged floor he incurred during the collision.

Besides him, his teammate, Charles Leclerc, also retired from the race after the Monegasque driver lost a tire in another collision during the race. In a nutshell, both Ferrari drivers had DNFs in Sao Paulo.

"I mean, jeez, This is definitely a weekend to forget. It's a shame because I love Brazil and also, you know, just everyone in the team, every single person in the team, they turn up every week and give it their absolute best and to come away with nothing, to not finish a race the second time in the year." "It's really devastating and I feel terrible for the team. I'm sorry for my part in qualifying, putting myself in that position. I just have to... we'll get back up tomorrow and just give it another go," he further added.

Lando Norris of McLaren, who started from pole, won the race, ahead of Kimi Antonelli and Max Verstappen. George Russell and Oscar Piastri wrapped up the Top five, while Oliver Bearman, Liam Lawson, Isack Hadjar, Nico Hulkenberg, and Pierre Gasly came home in Top 10.
