Best Pokemon TCG Pocket Dragalge ex deck guide: Strategy breakdown

1) Dragalge ex

  • HP: 150
  • Ability: Poison Point - When Dragalge ex is your Active Pokemon and takes damage from an opponent’s attack, the attacking Pokemon becomes Poisoned
  • Move: Draconic Whip - 80 damage
  • Energy Cost: 1 Darkness, 1 Colorless Energy
  • Retreat Cost: 2 Energy

Dragalge ex is both your main attacker and a source of passive damage through its Poison Point. Every time your opponent hits it, their Active Pokemon is inflicted with Poison, slowly chipping away 10 HP each turn. Combined with its solid 150 HP and consistent Draconic Whip damage, Dragalge ex’s onboard presence is menacing. Additionally, because its ability handles the Poison effect automatically, you can freely equip other useful Pokemon Tools to expand your playstyle.

2) Nihilego

  • HP: 90
  • Ability: More Poison - Your opponent’s Active Pokemon takes +10 additional damage from being Poisoned.
  • Move: New Wave - 30 damage; the target is now Poisoned.
  • Energy Cost: 1 Darkness, 1 Colorless Energy
  • Retreat Cost: 1 Energy

Nihilego’s primary purpose is to amplify the deck’s Poison damage. Its More Poison ability increases the damage dealt by Poison each turn by 10. With two on your Bench, Poison damage increases to 30 per turn.

3) Darkrai ex

  • HP: 140
  • Ability: Nightmare Aura - When you attach a Darkness Energy from your Energy Zone to this Pokemon, it deals 20 damage to your opponent’s Active Pokemon.
  • Move: Dark Prism - 80 damage
  • Energy Cost: 2 Darkness, 1 Colorless Energy
  • Retreat Cost: 2 Energy

Darkrai ex fills the role of a back-up attacker and an additional source of chip damage. Its Nightmare Aura ability ensures that even energy attachments become offensive tools. When it’s time to go on the offensive, Dark Prism hits for a clean 80 damage.
