New York Jets running back Breece Hall called out reporter Brian Costello on Friday. Tyrod Taylor will start on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, which likely means the end of the short-lived Justin Fields era in MetLife Stadium.
Costello recalled a locker room interaction with Fields when he tried to get the quarterback's reaction to his benching.
"Approached Justin Fields at his locker. He said he was going to get a massage and did not have time to talk. I asked his reaction to move. 'there’s no reaction. That’s life. S**t happens,'" Costello tweeted.•

Breece Hall didn't appreciate Costello's approach and called it a "pathetic move."
"Pathetic move by you tbh. Wish some of yall would grow up and stop acting like little kids nagging somebody till they get mad lol," Hall quote-tweeted.The Jets suffered their eighth loss of the season on Sunday against the New England Patriots. Justin Fields went 15 of 26 for 116 yards and one touchdown. Aaron Glenn benched him in favor of Taylor, who has played three games this season.
Taylor has completed 43 of 69 attempts for 379 yards and three touchdowns. The Jets have been one of the worst teams in the NFL this season, and this change is reportedly permanent, at least until the end of the season.
NFL insider says Jets could be interested in Kyler Murray as Justin Fields replacement
The New York Jets will try to reset the offense with Tyrod Taylor under center. According to Dan Graziano of ESPN, the veteran quarterback will remain the starter for the rest of the season, and they will likely have a new starting quarterback in 2026. More specifically, he mentioned Arizona Cardinals star Kyler Murray.
"The move is not expected to be temporary," Graziano wrote "Unless Taylor gets injured (which he has some history of doing), I don't get the sense the Jets will go back to Fields this season. And there will certainly be a new quarterback in New York next year, whether it's via the draft or a veteran outside solution such as Kyler Murray."Graziano adds that the Jets owe Fields $10 million in guaranteed money next year. If they release him, it will cost them a $22 million dead-money cap hit. After just one year with Fields as their starting quarterback, they will look for a new franchise QB again in the offseason.
