Orlando Magic vs Detroit Pistons Preview

The Magic have hit a slump and are on a three-game losing streak after winning the season opener against the Miami Heat. Orlando most recently lost to the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday. Paolo Banchero had 32 points, while Desmond Bane and Franz Wagner had 24 and 22 points, respectively.

Orlando has one of the best young rosters but needs to be consistent and show better defensive effort to stitch together wins. The East is wide open this year, and any team could advance to the NBA finals.

Moritz Wagner continues to be out for the Magic with knee rehabilitation.

The Pistons are another young team on the rise in the East. They haven’t been great either but have fared slightly better than the Magic. After stringing together two wins, they suffered a lopsided 116-95 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday.

Cade Cunningham had a terrible game with just 12 points. Tobis Harris had 10 points. They were the only two starters with double-digit scoring.

Detroit is dealing with a slew of injuries. Jaden Ivey (right knee) is out, while Caris LeVert (hamstring), Ausar Thompson (illness) and Marcus Sasser (right hip impingement) are questionable for Wednesday’s game.

The oddsmakers slightly favor the Magic to get a win on the road. We expect the same because of Detroit’s injury concerns. This should be a moderately high-scoring game with the team total going past 224.5 points.
