Kenneth Walker injury update: Seahawks roster moves give hint for RB's Week 12 status

The Seattle Seahawks made a surprise addition to the injury report on Friday with running back Kenneth Walker.

Walker was not on the injury report on Wednesday or Thursday, but he was added on the final day of the week due to a glute injury, which led to him getting the questionable tag from the Seahawks.

This now puts Walker's status in question for the Week 12 contest against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

However, there is some good news to report on Saturday, as the Seahawks didn't make any roster moves that suggest Walker won't suit up.

Is Kenneth Walker playing this week?

It looks like Walker will indeed play, as the Seahawks did not elevate a running back from their practice squad for Sunday.

Instead, Seattle has elevated linebackers Patrick O'Connell and Jamie Sheriff.

Seeing as how they only have three backs on their 53-man roster, Seattle certainly would have elevated one if there was any doubt about Walker's status.

This tracks with what head coach Mike Macdonald said on Friday, when he sounded confident that Walker would play despite the questionable tag.

“We’re just taking care of him (Friday). I’d say it’s precautionary, but you never know,” Macdonald said. “But I’d say it’s precautionary. He should be fine.”

Walker has been sharing backfield work with Zach Charbonnet this season, but Macdonald said Walker has earned himself more opportunities, so he could fully take the reins of the Seahawks' backfield in Week 12.

"I think Ken's showing that he's earning more opportunities to get the ball," Macdonald said. "But I think Ken's showing that he deserves some more opportunities."

The Seahawks and Titans will kick off from Nissan Stadium at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon.
