J.J. McCarthy's fiancée Katya pulls receipts to call out NFL analysts for doubting Vikings QB after historic performance vs. Lions

J.J. McCarthy’s fiancée, Katya Kuropas, called out the NFL analysts’ preview picks on social media. The Minnesota Vikings quarterback, who missed his rookie season due to injury, returned to play this season and was incredible in the Week 9 game against the Detroit Lions. He passed for 143 yards and two touchdowns to help his team win the game.

A Vikings fan page shared the game preview picks on its Instagram account, which did not include McCarthy’s name on the list. The fan page posted the video and pictures of the NFL star, which were later reshared by Katya on her Instagram story with a smirking face emoji.

With his impressive game, J.J. McCarthy became the first player in NFL history to record at least two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown in two of his first three career games.

He has played only three games so far and has recorded 444 passing yards, along with four passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns in total.

"It was awesome," McCarthy said after the win against the Lions (via ESPN). "Just when you're hurt, being on IR last year and being out for five [games in 2025], it absolutely kills me not being out there with those guys because I love every single one of them, and I know they got my back and I got theirs the rest of the way."

Notably, the Vikings broke their two-game losing streak in back-to-back matchups on Sunday. In Week 7, they struggled against the Philadelphia Eagles and then lost to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 8 before coming out strong against the Lions.

J.J. McCarthy and his fiancée, Katya, welcomed their first child in September.

In an Instagram story on Sunday, Katya shared a picture of their baby, calling him McCarthy’s No. 1 fan.

“Dada’s #1 fan,” she wrote.

In the snap, the little boy donned a brown custom-made outfit. His T-shirt featured a football print on the front, while the bottom was entirely covered in footballs.

Last week, McCarthy’s fiancée celebrated their baby’s first Halloween, dressing him in a Cookie Monster outfit. In October, the couple also celebrated their seventh anniversary.
