ESPN writer urges Dolphins to listen to trade inquiries on 'everyone'

After a brutal 28-6 loss in primetime, the Miami Dolphins are heading towards a major sell-off. They parted ways with general manager Chris Grier, signifying the Dolphins' intention to trade away more of their players than before.

Interim general manager Champ Kelly has already made one move, sending Jaelan Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles for a third-round pick. But that's not enough for ESPN writer Dan Graziano.

Graziano is urging the Dolphins to listen to trade inquiries on "everyone they have" ahead of the NFL trade deadline. Phillips is already on a new team, but there are still plenty of players that Graziano is urging the Dolphins to at least entertain calls on.

Dolphins urged to listen to trade calls on 'everyone'

"This looks like a team headed for a complete overhaul," Graziano writes, "perhaps including at quarterback (even though Tua Tagovailoa has $54 million in guaranteed money coming next year). If the Dolphins can get decent draft picks in return for anyone they aren't sure will be part of their future, they have to consider all possible deals."

Phillips was a clear trade candidate in the final year of his rookie deal. But players like Jaylen Waddle, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Bradley Chubb, Jordyn Brooks, and Jaylen Wright are a different story.

They're all signed through 2026, meaning the Dolphins could elect to wait to part with those players until the 2026 offseason. But Graziano insists the Dolphins should be listening to any inquiries about anyone on the roster.

"A 2-7 start is a license to consider everything," Graziano writes, "and they should."

Moving on from players like Waddle would be met with frustrations from fans, but the return could be a first-round pick, which could set the Dolphins up for long-term success.

The way this team is presently constructed, a lot needs to change to get back to playoff contention. Instead of holding onto players who might not factor into those playoff plans in the future, trading them for strong draft capital makes a lot of sense.

While it'd be a major departure from the Dolphins of years past, Kelly could lead the charge to a massive overhaul at the 2025 deadline.

Plenty of teams will be interested in their players, and Miami could land a huge haul if they are willing to part with most of its players at the deadline.

It could be a very busy trade deadline for Miami, and Graziano is urging the Dolphins to keep all of their options open at the upcoming deadline.
