KohR Motorsports will run a special Greg Biffle-inspired livery in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge next month at Daytona. The hood of its No. 60 Ford Mustang GT4 will have the names of the ones who died in last week’s plane crash, including Biffle and his family.

Last Thursday, December 18, near Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina, shortly after Biffle’s Cessna Citation jet took off with the former NASCAR driver and his family in it. The crash also took the lives of Dennis Dutton, his son Jack Dutton, and Craig Wadsworth.

“BIFFLE TRIBUTE: @KohR_MS will run a Greg Biffle tribute livery on its No. 60 Ford Mustang GT4 in next month’s @IMSA @MichelinRaceUSA Pilot Challenge season opener at @Daytona, it has been revealed,” wrote Sportscar365 on X.

The iconic Greg Biffle livery was designed by renowned motorsports graphic designer Andy Blackmore. Named one of NASCAR’s ’75 Greatest Drivers, Biffle was 55 at the time of his death.

Biffle made the headlines carrying out extensive relief work during Hurricane Helene. He, along with his team, flew his private helicopter into Western North Carolina to help stranded civilians and distribute victuals. His efforts touched hundreds of lives.

“The reason why I’m still going is people are still in need, and I don’t want to leave a soldier behind,” Biffle told NASCAR.com in October 2024. “That’s why I’m still at it.”

Greg Biffle raced in the NASCAR Cup Series from 2003 to 2016, primarily with Jack Roush Racing, now known as Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing. Over a career spanning 16 years, Biffle amassed 19 wins in the Cup Series, 20 in the Xfinity (now O’Reilly Auto Parts Series) Series, and 17 in the Truck Series. He also won the 2000 Truck Series and the 2002 Xfinity (then known as the Busch Series) championships.

Cleetus McFarland speaks up after Greg Biffle’s tragic death

Renowned YouTuber Garrett Mitchell, or Cleetus McFarland, recently posted a video talking about the untimely demise of NASCAR legend Greg Biffle. It appears that Biffle was supposed to spend the afternoon with McFarland in Sarasota, Florida. However, the meet-up never happened. Visibly emotional, McFarland recalled (quoted by Yahoo Sport),

“Our No. 1 favorite thing was our families, but our other two favorite things were helicopters and Crown Vics, and I don't think I've ever met anybody that has those two things in common with me.”

Cleetus McFarland became friends with Greg Biffle during their Hurricane Helene relief efforts. According to the social media sensation, they had agreed to exchange Christmas gifts worth $10,000.

McFarland got Biffle a remote control plane. However, due to Biffle's untimely demise, the gift never made it to him. McFarland later found out that Biffle was bringing racing pigeons for him.
