TikTok sensation Epic Gamer Grandma — beloved by millions of followers for her wholesome personality and genuine love of gaming — has died.

She was 78.

The streamer, whose real name was Agnes, died “peacefully” and “surrounded by love” on Monday while “holding the hand of her daughter, Pauline,” her grandson, Culsan, announced to her more than 850,000 Instagram followers on Tuesday.

“We watched the strongest woman we know slowly lose her words, and now that she’s gone, we are drowning in all the things we never got the chance to say back,” he wrote.

While the 78-year-old gamer’s death has left the family “completely heartbroken,” Culsan said they are “also incredibly proud” of the legacy she leaves behind and the lives she touched through her platform.

“Grandma showed that the internet doesn’t only belong to the young,” he wrote. “She showed that you can be in your seventies and still find new communities, new friendships, new ways to express yourself.

“She reminded people that our elders are not invisible, that they have stories, humor, opinions, and so much love left to give.”

Culsan first began updating followers about his grandmother’s condition in October, explaining her absence from recent videos.

On Oct. 16, he said Agnes’ chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) had “worsened significantly” and that she had been taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Two days later, he confirmed she had suffered a major stroke and would undergo extensive treatment and testing.

Weeks afterward, on Nov. 6, he shared another difficult update on her recovery.

“Her mind and speech remain seriously impaired. Most sentences are either entirely illegible or simply don’t make sense,” Culsan wrote.

“Her bones are in agony, and it’s absolutely heartbreaking to witness. My mum and I had to take frequent breaks to cry and process everything so we could be strong for grandma when she needed us most.”

As her health continued to decline, Culsan consistently expressed gratitude for the supportive messages sent by fans.

“Both my mum and I have cried too many times to count at some of your comments,” he wrote. “It means more to us than you could possibly imagine.”

As a streamer, Agnes amassed more than 2.4 million followers on TikTok and an additional 117,000 subscribers on YouTube, with a combined social media audience in the millions.

Over the years, her videos featured her playing games such as “Skyrim,” “Minecraft,” and “Phasmophobia.”

Culsan said that despite months “full of pain, fear, and uncertainty,” she never stopped being herself, showing “the same kindness, the same wittiness, and the same quiet strength.”

“Thank you for giving her a second family online,” he wrote. “Thank you for making her feel seen, valued, and celebrated in a world that often forgets people her age.

“She mattered to us, to you, and to so many more than she ever realized.”
