According to NASCAR Insights on X, Cup Series champion Kyle Larson found himself alongside three others in a unique NASCAR list. It was about five races in 2025 that saw a driver lead more than 80 percent of the laps this season, something that hasn’t happened since 1994.

However, Larson was the most dominant of them all. He led over 80 percent of the regular season events at Bristol in April (82.20%) and Kansas in May (82.77%). Shane van Gisbergen led 88.18% of the Sonoma race in July, while Larson’s teammate William Byron hit 81.82% at Darlington back in April.

Here is the post stating the same (via NASCAR Insights on X):

Joe Gibbs Racing driver Chase Briscoe was in the mix, too. 2025 marked his maiden season with the front-running Toyota organization, and he finished it ranking third in points with three wins, 15 top fives, and 19 top-10s.

Kyle Larson won the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series championship, finishing third behind race-winner Ryan Blaney and runner-up Brad Keselowski. Notably, Larson was the highest-finishing driver among the championship contenders

“We didn't lead a lap and won the championship," Kyle Larson said in his post-race interview (via ESPN). “We had an average car at best and had the right front go down, lost a lap and got the wave around, saved by the caution with the wave around. It's just unbelievable. What a year by this motorsports team.”

Next up for the Elk Grove is the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Scheduled for February 1, 2026, the 200-lap event will be televised on FOX (starting from 8 pm ET) with live radio updates on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

“I’d do it again”- Kyle Larson is ready for a Rolex 24 return

Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson said in a recent episode of the Dinner with Racers podcast that he would love to return to the iconic Daytona International Speedway for the Rolex 24 Hours. Notably, Larson has three starts in IMSA’s season-opening event.

However, the man has not taken part in the crown jewel race since 2016. In 2015, he took Chip Ganassi to an overall victory with fellow drivers Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan, and Jamie McMurray.

“I think at this stage in my career, yeah, I’d do it again,” Larson told podcast co-hosts Ryan Eversley and Sean Heckman. “I had fun those three years I did it. I didn’t want to keep doing it every year.” “It’s been so long since I ran it that you almost get to the point where you forget a little bit about it, right? And I just remember having a blast doing that race, so I just want to go there and relive it,” he further added.

Kyle Larson’s Rolex 24 return isn’t confirmed yet. That being said, the 2026 IMSA Rolex 24 at Daytona is scheduled for January 24-25, 2026.
