"Golden Bachelor" star Mel Owens is torn between his final two women.
During the Nov. 5 Fantasy Suite Week episode, the former Los Angeles Rams linebacker said he was struggling to decide which of his final two women he had a stronger connection with, Peg or Cindy after spending romantic time with each of them in Antigua.
The episode left Bachelor Nation on a cliffhanger and unsure of who the ex-NFL player, 66, will give his final rose to.
"Love is not a word I use often. It’s heavy, and loaded, and it has tons of meaning, and it can be misinterpreted. I’ve only been in love one time. We got married, and I got my heart broken," Mel told host Jesse Palmer, who questioned why he wasn't opening up enough with the women.
"I won’t tell someone I love them again just to say it. But my feelings for both women are on a very emotional and deeper level," Owens added. "I know having those feelings and showing them are two different things. I know I have to show them this week. It’s now or never.”'
Mel Owens' final two women question his feelings ahead of 'Golden Bachelor' finale
During the finale prequel, Owens spent his first date with Peg, a 62-year-old retired firefighter and bomb technician from Las Vegas. The pair kicked off their date exploring Antigua, before sharing a romantic champagne toast on a mountain overlooking the ocean.
Peg seemed unsure of the University of Michigan alum's feelings for her during the romantic outing, telling the cameras he "deflected" from answering serious questions.
"I want him to be vulnerable and to be open and to be honest before I go to the Fantasy Suites," Peg said, before Owens moved on to his second date with Cindy, a 60-year-old retired biomedical engineer from Austin, Texas.
Owens and Cindy enjoyed time aboard a boat and swimming with stingrays, before they got dressed up for the romantic dinner portion of their date prior to entering the Fantasy Suite.
During the dinner, Cindy hit Owens even harder with questions about his feelings, telling the former NFL star, "You don't really have questions for me, and I've grappled with that more than I've shared with you."
She continued, “What's holding you back? I hate to push you, because it's unfair, but I really would like to know. Do you see a future with us? How are you feeling about us? How do you feel about me?"
Owens somewhat dodged the question without directly answering it. He instead tried to assure by saying, "It just takes time."
The episode then ended on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers wondering if Owens and Cindy would even make it into the Fantasy Suite together or if they'd part ways before spending the night together.
