Tony Khan has introduced another title in AEW. Fans have now reacted to this announcement.

Ever since AEW was first launched in 2019, the company has introduced several titles across the men's, women's, and even tag team divisions. The promotion currently has several titles and champions to defend them. But, it looks like AEW is still not done introducing titles. Recently, the company announced the Women's Tag Team Championships. A tournament is underway to determine the inaugural champions. However, Tony has taken it a step further and announced a Casino Gauntlet match at Full Gear 2025, where the winner will become the first-ever AEW National Champion. This is a title that will be defended internationally.

Following this announcement, fans have taken to social media to voice their opinion on AEW introducing another title. Check out some of the reactions below:

Mike Mondo called out Tony Khan after he announced the AEW National Championship

Ever since Tony Khan announced the new AEW National Championship, he has been embroiled in criticism and controversy. This is because the National Championship very closely resembles the NWA National Title. Hence, many NWA officials were not pleased with this announcement. Bryan Idol called the AEW boss out of introducing a similar title to the NWA National Championship. He called it Tony's retaliation tactic since they lost the trademark for the word "shockwave."

Following this announcement, even the current NWA National Heavyweight Champion, Mike Mondo, took to social media to call out Tony and made it crystal clear that there is only one legit NWA National Championship and he is the one who holds the title.

“Let me be CLEAR. There is only ONE NWA & there is only one PRESTIGIOUS National Championship that holds legit lineage & has for decades. So to Tony Khan or anyone else confused… here’s the legit title, with the company it belongs to & the legit National Champion! MY NAME IS MIKE MONDO.”

It will be interesting to see if Tony Khan will change the name of the title after receiving so much backlash.
