Ja Rule has reacted to Zohran Mamdani coming out for his victory speech on the rapper's song, New York. The latter won the New York City mayoral election on Tuesday, November 4.
Zohran Mamdani, a self-titled democratic socialist, beat Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Silwa in the mayoral race, earning more than 1 million votes. He will officially become the mayor of New York City on January 1, 2026.
Mamdani gave a victory speech on Tuesday night. He walked out on stage with Ja Rule's New York playing in the background. The song, which also features Fat Joe and Jadakiss, was released on October 27, 2004. It was part of his sixth studio album, R.U.L.E., released on November 9, 2004.
Ja Rule, whose real name is Jeffrey Bruce Atkins, shared a story on his Instagram on Wednesday, November 5. He shared a post of Mamdani coming out to give his victory speech in New York and put emojis of a robotic arm and "100" on it.

The two rappers have been involved in a feud since 1999, and it continues to this day. 50 Cent, meanwhile, has been openly critical of Mamdani's objective of increasing taxes on the rich.
