Former NBA player Sebastian Telfair has shared an update on Sean Combs after getting out of prison. The two were inside Fort Dix in New Jersey, with Telfair serving time for violating the terms of his supervised release. Combs, more famously known as Diddy, is in the middle of a 50-month sentence.

Speaking to TMZ Sports in his first interview since his release, Telfair was asked about his time inside prison with Diddy. The former NBA player gave a shout-out to the rapper, whom he confirmed was doing alright inside. He looked at it as Diddy getting time to evaluate himself.

"I met some good people, shout-out Diddy," Telfair said, according to the New York Post. "My boy Diddy is in the spot too. I couldn't imagine how Diddy felt, but Diddy's holding it down. He’s doing what he’s got to do. Where he’s at, they’re going to help him."

"We all know Diddy's business. Diddy was living a rock star life. I’m glad he’s gonna get the time to relax and, as my boys will say on the inside, get some time for yourself. Diddy’s in good spirits, He’s still Diddy. Diddy is gonna be Diddy no matter where he’s at."

Sebastian Telfair was initially indicted in October 2021, along with 17 other former NBA players, for being part of a defrauding scheme. Telfair pleaded guilty less than two years later and was sentenced to three years' probation.

However, Telfair was ordered to go to prison back in August after failing to finish his court-ordered community service. He also didn't report to the United States Probation Office. He was supposed to get out in February 2026, but he was granted early release.

Sebastian Telfair's NBA career retrospective

Born and raised in New York City, Sebastian Telfair became a streetball legend at an early age. He was one of the best high school players to come out of the Big Apple. He was supposed to play college basketball for Louisville before changing his mind and declaring for the 2004 NBA draft.

The Portland Trail Blazers selected him No. 13, but he never lived up to his potential. He had a 10-year career in the league as a backup from 2004 to 2015. He also played for the Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, LA Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors and OKC Thunder.

Telfair spent the final years of his career in China, suiting up for Tianjin Ronggang, Xinjiang Flying Tigers and Fujian Sturgeons.
