The Dallas Mavericks entered the season with plenty of excitement surrounding them. Fans were eager to see how the frontcourt duo of Anthony Davis and Cooper Flagg would perform together. But despite the high expectations, the team has struggled early on, starting the season with a subpar 2-4 record.

Their only wins came against the Toronto Raptors on October 26 and the Indiana Pacers on October 29. Meanwhile, Jason Kidd’s squad has dropped games to the San Antonio Spurs, Washington Wizards, OKC Thunder, and Detroit Pistons, losing by an average margin of 15.5 points.

The Houston Rockets had a rocky beginning as well, losing their first two games, including a double OT heartbreaker to the OKC Thunder and another defeat to the Detroit Pistons.

Since then, Houston has bounced back. The team is currently riding a three-game winning streak with victories over the Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors, and Boston Celtics.

Kevin Durant has stepped up during this three-game stretch, averaging 25.3 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting an impressive 57.8% from the field.
