Jannik Sinner won his maiden Paris Masters title on Sunday, beating Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final of the 2025 edition. Appearing in his first final at the tournament, the Italian won 6-4, 7-6(4) to win his 23rd career title.

Sinner, with the title in Paris, has also regained the World No. 1 spot from Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniard was also playing at the Masters 1000 tournament, but faced a shock early exit against Cameron Norrie.

Sinner capped off a wonderful week at the tournament, having beaten the likes of Alexander Zverev and Ben Shelton on his way. The four-time Grand Slam champion, notably, did not lose a single set throughout his run.

At the presentation ceremony afterwards, Sinner was all praise for Auger-Aliassime, calling the Canadian one of the 'nicest' players on the tour and predicting huge success for him in the future if he can keep up his attitude.

"First of all Felix amazing week. I know you had a lot of pressure. You’ve been in a very difficult spot throughout the whole week. I hope it pays off for you, playing in Turin. Congrats to you and your whole team," Sinner said. "You’re one of the nicest people on the tour. If you keep playing like this, you’re for sure gonna have some of this I’m very sure. I wish you the best for the rest of the season, but also the rest of your career. You’re amazing," he added.

Felix Auger-Aliassime also reminisced on his friendship with Sinner, recalling how they were once teenagers playing video games with one another and now they were sharing the stage at one of the biggest tournaments in the world.

"It’s never easy to lose in a final. But Jannik, congrats to you and your team. You push all the players and myself to improve and get better. I can only give you credit and tip my hat off to all the improvement since we’ve known each other. I think we were playing FIFA when we were 16 or 17. You're a much better player since then," Auger-Aliassime said.

Sinner has now won five Masters 1000 titles, all of them coming at different tournaments.
