The AEW World Title has a prestigious lineage. It began with the crowning of Chris Jericho as the inaugural champion. The title is currently held by "Hangman" Adam Page, who won it at All In: Texas.
Chris Jericho is in the final year of his AEW contract. His tenure with the company is rumored to end next month, and he is reportedly rejoining WWE. Y2J has not been seen on All Elite Wrestling programming since April. However, a few hours ago, he shared an update.
Ahead of Full Gear 2025, Jericho shared a picture of himself in front of a concert sign. He performed with a band in a venue called The Arrowhead in Calgary, Canada.
The post's caption read,
"Stoked for a great rock show TONIGHT at the @arrowheadcalgary at the Franks & Johnny’s reunion extravaganza!! Honored to pay tribute to the legendary #LarryGillstrom and become the frontman for ONE NIGHT ONLY for one of my all time favorite bands @kickaxeband with my bro @toddkerns! Come on down and go crazy with us as we get On The Road To Rock!!," he wrote.Chris Jericho buries AEW
In a recent episode of Talk is Jericho, the legend praised TNA's recent Bound For Glory pay-per-view. Furthermore, he compared the show to recent episodes of Dynamite and mocked the product.
"I was watching this and, not saying anything out of school here, but comparing it to watching Dynamite when they were at the ECW Arena, which looked like a Tony Condello taping, sorry, it did — TNA looked like the second biggest company in the world, and that was amazing. And the presentation was amazing,” the 55-year-old said.Only time will tell what the future holds for Chris Jericho. Hopefully, he will appear in WWE sooner or later.
