The quest starts with the Valley of Memory, where you need to talk to Dervis. You’ll find him inside Dervis’ Fence in the Dyeing Factory area. When you meet him, a cutscene plays where Dervis gives you a painting of a house, which he believes was made by Basim’s father. The cutscene also reveals Basim and his father’s connection to that house.

Dervis then tells you that the painting was stolen from Alula by a well-known trader of stolen goods. This sends Basim to Alula to look for his father, starting 'The Ones Who Remain' missions. Eventually, you find Basim's lost father when you arrive in the "In the Vulture's Nest" mission. Throughout the journey, you’ll face many enemies where your stealth skills will prove useful.

You’ll also meet new companions who help you progress through some missions. The DLC also includes various side activities and archaeological areas to explore. Just don’t forget to activate the nearby Synchronization Point for fast travel, which is useful on a large map like Alula. That said, you can still revisit old missions if you want.

However, this time you can benefit from using new skills and perks to complete them. If you want the missions to be more challenging, there are two additional difficulty levels. Otherwise, you always have the option to fine-tune the difficulty settings to match your playstyle.
