WWE Saturday Night's Main Event in Salt Lake City was a special event for Jade Cargill, as she conquered the women's division. Meanwhile, there's bad news for the champion coming out of the event in Utah.
Earlier this year, Jade Cargill won the Queen of the Ring tournament and punched her ticket to a title match against Tiffany Stratton. However, she failed more than once, which led to her turning heel and injuring the champion ahead of Saturday Night's Main Event.
The heel tactics worked as she squashed Tiffy Time in Utah and ended her reign as the WWE Women's Champion in under six minutes. However, the match was universally panned, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer gave his official rating.
The insider awarded it with 1.75 stars, and it's not the start that The Storm would've wanted for her first reign as the champion. It'll be interesting to see how Cargill's reign unfolds, as she will appear on Friday Night SmackDown following her win over Tiffany Stratton.
Wrestling veteran wasn't a fan of Jade Cargill's WWE booking
Earlier this year, Jade Cargill failed as a babyface when she faced Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women's Championship. Last month, The Storm returned with a scar and turned heel. Moreover, she injured the 26-year-old SmackDown star ahead of their title match.
Speaking on Vince Russo's The Brand, Bin Hamin mainly blamed Triple H's creative regime for terribly booking the match between Cargill and Stratton for the title. Moreover, he pointed out that the 33-year-old SmackDown star cosplayed a babyface while being a heel and squashed a notable champion in less than six minutes.
This marks Jade Cargill's first singles run in the Stamford-based promotion as a champion. Previously, she held the AEW TBS Women's Championship for over five hundred days and had two runs with Bianca Belair in the women's tag team division as the WWE Women's Tag Team Champion. It'll be interesting to see what's next for Jade Cargill on the blue brand.
