The Zenless Zone Zero 2.5 livestream showcased everything new coming to the game in the upcoming patch. Set to release on December 30, 2025, version 2.5 of ZZZ is set to introduce a set of new content to the game, including two new playable agents. A free S-Rank character will also be given away as a reward after the update.
This article will cover everything new coming to the game, which was announced during the Zenless Zone Zero 2.5 livestream.
Zenless Zone Zero 2.5 livestream overview
New Agents
New Agents (Image via HoYoverse)Zhao and Ye Shungguang in Zenless Zone Zero will be available as part of the 2.5 update. Both of them will be available for a limited time during the update. Ye Shungguang will be a void hunter similar to Hoshimi Miyabi.
New W-Engines and Bangboo
Three new W-Engines will be introduced during the ZZZ 2.5 update:
- Cloudcleave Radiance (S-Rank)
- Half-Sugar Bunny (S-Rank)
- Cauldron of Clarity (A-Rank)
A new Bangboo, which will work alongside Ye Shungguang, will also be added during the update:
- Sprout
New Banners
ZZZ 2.5 special banner (Image via HoYoverse)Zhao and Ye Shungguang's banner will be available throughout the 2.5 patch, alongside their weapons.
Phase 1
- 5-star Zhao, Ye Shungguang
- 4-star: Nicole Demara, Ben Bigger, Anby Demara, Lucy
Phase 2
A new triple banner system will also be available with the following Agents:
- Astra Yao
- Alice
- Soldier 0 - Anby
As was announced during the Zenless Zone Zero 2.5 livestream, the banner will be special, as the character you select will be 100 percent guaranteed. There will also be a 20 percent off your first 10x pull on the banner.
New story
To Be Fuel for the Night is the new story chapter that players can enjoy after the 2.5 update goes live. It will be available permanently for all Proxies.
New Drive Discs
The Zenless Zone Zero 2.5 livestream announced two new Drive Disks:
- White Water Ballad
- Shining Aria
New Events
New Events (Image via HoYoverse)The following events will be added to the game in version 2.5 of Zenless Zone Zero:
- Joint Investigation: The Divine Maze
- Sword Seeker Chronicles
- Shadow Riptide Clash
- Angels and Delusions of Muse
- Wish Filling Station
- Advanced Bounty: Area Patrol
- Data Bounty: Combat Simulation
Additionally, two new systems will be added:
- Proxy Outposts
- New Mission System: Buyan Store
Quality-of-life updates and system optimizations
The Zenless Zone Zero 2.5 livestream showcased the following system optimizations:
- The Shiyu Defense's Critical Node will have four nodes only instead of seven, with a planned fifth stage. The rewards will also be more compared to previous updates.
- Deadly Assault will now show optimized squad setups that will give you easier clears
- A new Third Person Camera will be available
- Game resource optimization will allow you to reduce the game file size
- You can start the latest chapter after the 2.5 update
- Advanced Tuning will allow you to select sub-stats of Disk Drives
- Ether Batteries can be used to easily claim rewards from challenge stages
- Function menu added to the shortcut bar.
- Damage numbers will clearly be shown based on your attacks.

- Ellen Joe
- Grace Howards
New Shop outfits

- Touch of Dawnlight for Ye Shungguang
- Nocturne of Light for Jane Doe
The Nocturne of Light outfit will be available for free, as was announced during the Zenless Zone Zero 2.5 livestream.
Zenless Zone Zero 2.5 livestream code and other rewards
Rewards (Image via HoYoverse)The following Zenless Zone Zero livestream code is available for a limited time:
- VOIDHUNTER1230: 300x Polychromes, 2x Senior Investigator Logs, 3x W-Engine Energy Modules, 30,000x Dennies
The code will expire on December 21, 2025, at 11:59 (UTC+8). So make sure to redeem it as soon as you can. Besides, HoYoverse also announced the following rewards, including a free S-Rank agent in Zenless Zone Zero:
- Zhao can be claimed for free from December 30
- From January 1, you will get 1000x Polychrome in your mailbox
- A free S-Rank agent and S-Rank W-Engine selector can be obtained from the Top-Up milestone.
- Free Jane Doe skin
- 800x Polychromes can be obtained as part of pre-registering for the 2.5 update, as well as a login event
- 10x Boopon from Login event
- 10x Master Encrypted Tapes from Login events.
The Zenless Zone Zero 2.5 update will be released on December 30, 2025.
