"Blessed to call you ours" - Axar Patel's wife shares heartwarming birthday wish for son amid IND vs SA 2025 T20Is [In Pictures]

All-rounder Axar Patel's wife, Meha Patel, shared a heartwarming birthday wish for their son amid the T20I series between India and South Africa. Their son Haksh turned one on Friday, December 19, 2025.

Meha wrote that their life had changed beautifully. She added that their son filled their lives with love, laughter, and joy. Meha shared pictures of Axar Patel and herself with their son as she wrote the birthday wish.

"Happy 1st Birthday, our little Haksh 🤍 Life has changed in the most beautiful way since you came into our lives. You’ve filled our days with love, laughter, and endless joy. We’re so blessed to call you ours. May your life always be as bright as your smile🧿🩵," she captioned the post.

Axar Patel and Meha married each other on January 26, 2023. The wedding was held in Vadodara, Gujarat.

Axar Patel was ruled out of the last two T20Is against South Africa

Axar Patel was part of Team India for the five-match T20I series against the Proteas. However, the all-rounder was ruled out of the last two fixtures as he fell ill. The reason for his illness is unknown. However, he remained with the team.

The selection committee named all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed as his replacement for the matches in Lucknow and Ahmedabad. In the first match, Axar scored 23 runs with the bat and returned impressive figures of 2/7 with the ball from two overs. In the second game, he returned figures of 1/27 from three overs and scored a run-a-ball 21. He was dropped from the playing 11 for the third game.

Axar made his first T20I appearance in 2015 against Zimbabwe. He has played 85 matches to date and has picked up 82 wickets at an average of 21.92 at an economy of 7.24. He has also made 681 runs from 52 innings at a strike rate of 135.11.

Axar was part of India's 2024 T20 World Cup-winning team. He played an important knock in the final. The left-hander scored 47 runs off 31 balls with a boundary and four maximums at a strike rate of 151.61. Axar also dismissed Tristan Stubbs.
