Khalid recently opened up about his ex-partner, Hugo D Almonte, outing him as gay in November last year. He said that he wanted to reveal it on his own terms and that being outed was "annoying".

In November 2024, Almonte shared a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), laying multiple allegations against the singer. He wrote that Khalid, whose full name is Khalid Donnel Robinson, allegedly gave him pink cocaine and also made abuse allegations against him. He ended up outing him as gay as well.

Robinson denied these allegations on X and confirmed that he is gay. In an interview with Scott Evans, published on November 8, the singer opened up about the incident, saying:

“That sh*t was annoying as f*ck, to put it bluntly. That was very annoying because that’s not where I live my own life — for a situation to be five years in the past to be brought up on a public platform where you have to defend yourself against word of mouth. I really wanted to prove my stance and then eventually I was like, I don’t give a f*ck.” “I didn’t want to write this long paragraph and be like, ‘Now I’m out'. I was just like, I’m gonna tweet the gay flag. Like, whatever. I’m gay. Let’s move on,” he added.

The singer added that he initially wanted to defend himself, but then chose to accept the revelation instead and move on.

Three days after this, the singer slammed his ex-partner Hugo D Almonte's allegations against him. He shared a series of posts on X as he looked to clarify allegations of cocaine use and paying for sex. He wrote:

"I've never done cocaine a day in my life. I don't place myself in those scenarios. I'm not in those surroundings. I smoke weed, and I drink a little bit."

In another post, he added:

"I've never paid for sex a day in my life. Ever. I've never paid anybody to date me. I've never paid anybody to be in a relationship with me." “I’ve never accused anybody publicly of breaking into my house, and the only people who even know about a breaking are my close circle."

Slamming D Almonte, he added:

"The only reason I'm clearing up any of this is because...it's triggering seeing the few comments of people painting me as if I'm some manipulative abuser. It's just crazy to me."

Khalid also claimed that the last time he spoke to D Almonte was "four years ago", adding that these allegations are "random".
