Helen Siff died on Thursday, December 18, at 88 due to complications from a surgery. The actress played the role of Leonna in the American sitcom Married... with Children for two episodes.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Helen Siff's family explained that she was dealing with a "long, painful illness". She had complications in her surgery for its treatment and died on Thursday. She starred in plays, commercials, movies, and TV shows in her career.

Following her death, her family told The Hollywood Reporter:

“Those who worked with Helen knew her not just as a talented performer, but as someone who brought professionalism, dedication and genuine kindness to every set. She understood that every role, no matter how large or small, was an opportunity to contribute something meaningful to the story being told. She had the rare gift of making even the smallest part memorable.”

Siff starred in many sitcoms, including Married... with Children. It showed the lives of Al Bundy (played by Ed O'Neill), a shoe salesman, and his family. It premiered on April 5, 1987, and ran for 11 seasons.

Siff, notably, played Leonna in two episodes in Season 8 of the show in 1994.

Helen Siff was born in Woodmere, New York, in 1937 and started her on-screen career with the role of a waitress in Lou Grant in 1981. She also appeared in the likes of Cagney & Lacy, L.A. Law, and Doogie Hoswer, M.D. She also played the role of a cashier in The Karate Kid in 1984.

Siff also featured in a commercial with her twin sister, Carol Infield Sender, for Subaru. Post that, she featured in numerous commercials, movies, and shows. Apart from Married... with Children, she also starred in Modern Family, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Good Trouble.

Siff also starred in many plays, including originating the character of Helga in Grandma Sylvia’s Funeral. She featured in other plays as well, like Lilies of the Field, Lost in Yonkers, and Over the River and Through the Woods.


Helen Siff's daughter shares heartbreaking message on Instagram

Helen Siff had four daughters and two sons with her husband, Marshall, who died in 2007. Meanwhile, one of their sons, Bruce, died in 1999. Siff is survived by her kids: daughters Susie, Karen, Vicki, and Jenny, and son Matt.

Vicki shared a post on Instagram, mourning her mother's death, as she wrote:

"I’m heartbroken to share that my mother ( my mommy ) Helen Siff has passed away 💔. My dynamic , charismatic , one-of-a-kind mom was a stage , television and film actress. She loved her craft deeply , but her greatest role was being a mother and grandmother … You’ve taken your final bow , mommy …. I will love you forever ♥️"

Apart from her kids, Siff is also survived by her sisters, Carol Infield Sender and Janet. She also has seven grandchildren: Chelsea, Zach, Robert, Josh, Spencer, Megan, and Dean.
