Batting first, Team India put up an impressive total of 231-5 on the board in their 20 overs and then held the opposition to 201-8.

India ended 2025 with 15 wins and three losses from 21 T20I matches. One of their matches ended in a tie, while two produced no result. They began the year with a 4-1 triumph over England at home. The Men in Blue won the Asia Cup in the UAE in September. They then beat Australia Down Under by a 2-1 margin before the getting the better of Proteas in home conditions.

#5 Shikhar Dhawan (689 runs in 2018)

Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan could not replicate his ODI success in the T20I format. But, he did have an impressive run in T20Is in 2018. In 18 matches (17 innings), the southpaw scored 689 runs at an average of 40.52 and a strike rate of 147.22, with six half-centuries.

Dhawan's best T20I score in 2018 was 92, which came off 62 balls against West Indies in Chennai. The knock featured 10 fours and two sixes. He also struck 90 off 49 against Sri Lanka in Colombo, 76 off 42 against Australia in Brisbane and 72 off 39 against South Africa in Johannesburg.


#4 Suryakumar Yadav (733 runs in 2023)

Team India skipper Suryakumar Yadav may be struggling for runs as of now. However, he had a terrific 2023. In 18 T20Is (17 innings), he scored 733 runs at an average of 48.86 and a strike rate of 155.95, with two tons and five half-centuries.

Suryakumar smashed 112* off 51 balls against Sri Lanka in Rajkot. The knock featured seven fours and nine sixes. He also slammed 100 off 56 against South Africa in Johannesburg, hitting seven fours and eight sixes and 80 off 42 balls against Australia in Visakhapatnam.


#3 Virat Kohli (781 runs in 2022)

Former Team India captain Virat Kohli smashed 781 runs in 20 T20I matches in 2022. The right-handed batter averaged 55.78 at a strike rate of 138.23, with the aid of one hundred and eight half-centuries.

Kohli's best of 122* came off 61 balls against Afghanistan in Dubai in the Asia Cup. The knock featured 12 fours and six sixes. #1 Suryakumar Yadav (1,164 runs in 2022)

Suryakumar holds the record for most runs scored by an Indian batter in a calendar year in T20Is. In 31 matches in 2022, he smashed 1,164 runs at an average of 46.56 and a strike rate of 187.43, with two hundreds and nine fifties.

The 360-degree batter clobbered 117 off just 55 balls against England in Nottingham. The blazing knock featured 14 fours and six sixes even as India lost the game by 17 runs. Suryakumar also scored 111* off 51 balls against New Zealand in Mount Maunganui, hitting 11 fours and seven sixes.
