The LA Lakers face an uphill battle on Tuesday against the Phoenix Suns as they could be without their two best scorers, Austin Reaves and Luka Doncic. Doncic is confirmed out, but there's still some hope that Reaves will make his return after missing the last three games due to a left calf strain.
The Lakers have listed Reaves as questionable for the matchup. He could be a game-time decision. They survived in Reaves' absence in Dec. 14's 116-114 win over Phoenix. However, Doncic was available and, as a key contributor. He tallied 29 points and six assists.
The Lakers also received favorable calls towards the end, which bailed them out. Having Austin Reaves back in the lineup could be critical as the Lakers don't have reliable scorers outside LeBron James and Deandre Ayton available for the game.

Along with Luka Doncic, Rui Hachimura is also out. If Reaves sits, the Lakers could be without three starters for the second consecutive outing. In Saturday's loss to the LA Clippers, the Lakers missed Reaves, Hachimura and Ayton. In the second half, they were also without Doncic.

Austin Reaves stats vs. Phoenix Suns
Austin Reaves has averaged 17.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.1 steals in 16 games against the Suns. He's shot 54.4% from the field, including 45.0% from 3-point range. It's safe to say they are one of his favorite opponents.
However, he had an underwhelming outing in his last game vs. the Suns on Dec. 1. Reaves had 16 points on 50.0% shooting, but he recorded three assists against five turnovers. The Suns' ball pressure and physicality made things difficult.
Nevertheless, it was a team-wide problem for the Lakers and not a persistent issue with Reaves, who has overcome his struggles against such defensive schemes.
