During the Chiefs' press conference last Thursday, Dave Toub was asked to share his thoughts on Donald Trump not being a fan of the new NFL kickoff rule. The special teams coach was very blunt with his response to the situation.
"He has no idea what he's looking at," Toub said. "He has no idea what's going on with the kickoff rule. Take that for what it's worth. And I hope he hears it."Earlier this month, Donald Trump appeared on Pat McAfee's ESPN show after attending the Week 10 game between the Commanders and the Lions. During this appearance, he heavily criticized the new NFL kickoff rule, stating that it takes away the essence of the game.
"I hate the new kickoff in football," Trump said. "I think it's terrible, so demeaning. I think it hurts the game. I've told Roger Goodell. And I don't think it's any safer. I mean you still have guys crashing into each other. The ball is in the air and nobody is moving. It's supposed to be when the ball is in the air, you're supposed to be moving. The pageantry of the game is so badly hurt."Pat McAfee defended his decision to host Donald Trump on his show
After McAfee welcomed POTUS on his ESPN show, he received a lot of backlash and criticism online.
However, despite this, the ex-Colts punter defended his decision to host Donald Trump on his show. After the segment with the President, he also explained why he decided to invite him.
"I will like to say though, for the immediate people that are going to be mad about having that- it's the president of the United States," McAfee said. "It's Veterans Day. He's the Commander-in-Chief. Obviously, if we have the opportunity to talk to him, we're going to. And he is hilarious."On the show, Trump touched on several different topics. He also discussed his friendship with ex-Alabama coach Nick Saban and praised him as someone who works for the betterment of college football.
