Ravindra Jadeja finally breaks frustrating partnership, gets Kyle Verreynne stumped on Day 2 of IND vs SA 2025 2nd Test [Watch]

Ravindra Jadeja and captain Rishabh Pant combined to dismiss Kyle Verreynne on Day 2 of the second Test between India and South Africa at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday, November 23. With the stumped out dismissal, India also broke the 88-run partnership between Verreynne and Senuran Muthusamy for the seventh wicket. The wicketkeeper-batter departed for 45 runs off 122 balls as the tourists lost their seventh wicket for 334.

The dismissal came in the 121st over of the Proteas’ first innings. Jadeja fired a short and wide delivery as Verreynne stepped out of his crease early. The left-arm spinner bowled it quicker at 96.8 kmph, the ball ripped away sharply after pitching and beat the bat before Pant completed formalities behind the stumps.

It was Jadeja’s second wicket of the innings, having dismissed skipper Temba Bavuma for 41. The 36-year-old has been exceptional with the ball in the ongoing Test series against South Africa. The all-rounder also bagged four wickets in the first Test in Kolkata.

Senuran Muthusamy and Kyle Verreynne help South Africa dominate India in the 2nd Test

A clinical batting display from Senuran Muthusamy and Kyle Verreynne helped the Proteas dominate India on Day 2 of the second Test.

At the time of writing, South Africa were 356/7, with Muthusamy (74) and Marco Jansen (15) at the crease. Kuldeep Yadav has been the pick of the bowlers for India, bagging three wickets.

Earlier on Day 1, Tristan Stubbs top-scored with 49 runs off 112 balls, while Bavuma chipped in with 41. Openers Aiden Markram and Ryan Rickelton also chipped in with 38 and 35, respectively, to help the visitors set up an 82-run stand for the opening wicket.

SA are leading the two-match series 1-0 after winning the series opener by 30 runs. They will look to win their first Test series in India since the 1999/2000 series. Meanwhile, India will be keen to avoid another Test series defeat at home, having lost to New Zealand 0-3 last year.
