Typhoon Family: When will episodes 9-10 release, and what to expect

Episodes 7 and 8 of Typhoon Family dropped on Netflix on November 1 and 2. The next chapters, Episodes 9 and 10, are set to land on November 8 and 9. Meanwhile, in South Korea, tvN continues airing the drama every weekend at 10:40 p.m. KST. South Korea’s 1997 financial collapse shatters Kang Tae-poong's (Lee Jun-ho) privileged life. His father’s small firm, Typhoon Trading Company, begins to sink, and after his father’s sudden death, Tae-Poong steps up as CEO.

Once immature, he’s now determined to save the business and honor his father’s legacy, working relentlessly with the remaining staff and family. Oh Mi-seon, the breadwinner in her own family, handles bookkeeping and whatever chores the office needs. Seeing Tae-poong refuse to give up inspires her. She puts in steady, tough work, hoping Typhoon Trading can become the place where she builds a real future.

What's ahead in episodes 9 & 10 of Typhoon Family?

Typhoon Family's episode 9 opens in Thailand as Ma-jin is accused of bribing $10,000 (roughly 15 million won) and is taken into custody by local police. The arrest immediately jeopardizes Typhoon Trading’s deal.

Tae-poong asks Ma-yong about the planned meeting with the Nikaham Group, their potential buyer. However, Ma-yong says the meeting was called off after he examined some documents. He explains those papers likely show why the helmets never reached the buyer, and warns that if they can’t clear things up, the buyer will have the stock destroyed.

Tae-poong and Ma-yong go to court to attend Ma-jin’s trial. Meanwhile, Mi-seon rushes to the warehouse and finds helmets already crushed and flattened as she stands stunned.

Despite the legal and logistical setback, the team continues pushing forward and tries to sell whatever they can. Later, Tae-poong tells Mi-seon, “You’re the prettiest and coolest person I’ve ever met,” and they share a kiss. From this point, the two may begin seeing each other as more than colleagues.

Episode 7 of Typhoon Family starts with Tae-poong and Mi-seon hustling a ship captain to take their shoe consignment to Mexico. He refuses and tosses salt at them, but Cha-ran intervenes. She reminds the captain that he once knew Tae-poong’s father, which changes his mind. Park Yun-cheol then agrees to personally deliver the shipment overseas.

Tae-poong handles the loading himself, working with local fisherwomen to hide the shoes inside seafood cargo and get them onto the vessel. Right before the ship sails, police show up on a smuggling tip and begin inspecting the cargo. Tae-poong jumps into a small boat, rips open a flour sack to make it look like drugs. This diversion lets the main ship slip away.

Ryu Hui-gyu and Pyo Hyun-jun pull up aboard to threaten him, but Hui-gyu spares Tae-poong because he still wants his money repaid. Back on shore, Tae-poong is hugged by Mi-seon, and he confesses he likes her. In Busa,n Tae-poong pays Hui-gyu back and reclaims the debt contract, while Hyun-jun gets scolded by his father for losing the shoes.

Back in Seoul, Tae-poong and Mi-seon start scouting for a new product to sell. That night, Tae-poong meets Yun-seong, who gives him a factory helmet, and Tae-poong gives him safety shoes. The episode ends with Ma-jin joining Typhoon Trading. In episode eight, the team meets the helmet makers. The product is also hammered in front of everyone to prove its toughness.

The manufacturers like Typhoon’s approach and agree to sell on credit for a small, half-minimum order. Ma-jin reacts negatively to Mi-seon taking on sales duties instead of only handling accounting tasks. He confronts her with remarks suggesting she should step aside. Tae-poong selects Thailand as the target market based on timing and policy factors.

Thailand was the first Asian economy affected by the IMF crisis, positioning it for an earlier recovery. In Bangkok, they work from a single desk at Sawaddee Trading, run by Ma-Yong, Ma-jin’s cousin. At the guest house, they eat Tom Kh, where Ma-jin keeps belittling Mi-seon. At the port, Ma-jin slips a customs officer $50 as “lunch money,” despite Mi-seon’s protests. Later, they dress up to chase a lead at a cabaret and meet Nicha, daughter of the Nikaham boss.

There, Tae-poong sings on stage, but Mi-seon leaves in discomfort. He then follows her to the pool to serenade her. The night ends with a raid as Thai police storm the guest house, haul the Koreans to the station, and Mi-seon pieces together the charge, the $50 bribe. The Typhoon Family episode ends with Ma-jin being identified and dragged away while Tae-poong and the others scramble to hold him.

Typhoon Family ended its first half on a high note. The November 2 episode hit a new peak, scoring 9.1 percent nationwide and ranking No. 1 in its time slot.
