Rusev is one of the top stars in WWE at the moment. He has just made a massive admission ahead of RAW.

Rusev and CJ Perry first met during their time together in NXT. Their onscreen relationship soon turned into an offscreen romance, and the couple got engaged in 2015. They finally tied the knot in 2016. After the Bulgarian Brute left WWE in 2020, CJ Perry continued with the sports entertainment juggernaut for another year before leaving the promotion. Although the Bulgarian Brute joined AEW, CJ took a break in the industry before joining the Jacksonville-based promotion in 2023. During this time, the former Miro and Perry went through a rough patch in their relationship and separated. They eventually reconciled and rekindled their relationship in 2024. The couple even renewed their vows.

CJ Perry recently launched her own podcast called Identity Crisis, and the first guest was her husband, Rusev. During the podcast episode, the WWE star admitted that he went on a few dates with other women before he got back together with his wife. He also noted that these dates were more about having a conversation with somebody.

"I went on a few dates. I just wanted some conversations. Because with her, I've never even talked to a woman, because I'm a respectful husband, I don't do that kinda stuff. I just wanted to see what kind of conversation I can have with another female. It doesn't have to be sleeping. You just wanna see a conversation. It was interesting to see the age gap when you go with a 20 year old or a 30 year old or a 40 year old, what the difference is. I wouldn't say 20."

He further reiterated that he went on two or three dates with people he wanted to have a conversation with.

"Two or three (dates) maybe. It's not even people who I was interested in. I went with a classmate or a friend from back in the day, which I wouldn't have done if CJ was there. But they happen to be girls, they happen to be friends. They're not like my girlfriends. I didn't want to go and have s*x with them, I just wanted to have a conversation, that's all it was." Rusev voiced his frustration about his AEW run

Rusev was part of the AEW roster for a couple of years. Initially, he was booked strongly and even won the TNT Championship. However, as the years passed by, Tony Khan kept him on the sidelines for long periods of time. In fact, he spent the entire 2024 on the sidelines before he was granted his release from the company earlier this year. It was also reported that the reason he was kept on the sidelines was because he refused to put over fellow talent.

During a recent interview with CBS Sports, the Bulgarian Brute was asked about the rumors that he refused to lose to other wrestlers. The former AEW star side-stepped the question and discussed how he felt to be kept away from the ring.

“In the past five years, I have had 20 or 30 matches. Back in the day, I had 30 matches in 30 days... The dead time sticks out the most. We only have this body and age for so long. We can’t do this job forever, so we must take advantage of it while we’re young. I sat on the sidelines for so long, unable to do what I love, which is performing for people in professional wrestling.” [H/T - Ringside News]

Since joining WWE, Rusev has been in pursuit of the Intercontinental Championship.
