Trey Hendrickson trade rumor from Jay Glazer is huge news for Cowboys, Eagles, 49ers

There is a new development when it comes to the potential availability of Cincinnati Bengals star edge rusher Trey Hendrickson at the trade deadline.

Reports have suggested for a while now that Hendrickson would not be available for trade at the deadline, but it appears there might be a change on that front.

According to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, teams that are calling the Bengals about the star edge rusher are no longer being told no after that was initially the case.

"(Over) the last couple (of) days, a bunch of GMs said, ‘Hey, you better check this out, because now they’re saying yes to us,'" Glazer said. "Whether or not they can get what they're looking for, I don't know about that, but it seemed like a hard no about a week or so ago — and now it's not."

This is a massive shift for the Bengals, and it likely has to do with the fact that their season continues to sink further into the depths of despair.

Bare in mind, Glazer shared this before Sunday's game, so the Bengals might be even more motivated to sell him following Cincinnati's devastating loss to the Chicago Bears that dropped the Bengals to 3-6 on the season.

Hendrickson is currently dealing with a hip injury, but there is nothing to suggest it's going to be long term and that will not deter teams from trying to land him.

This change from the Bengals will no doubt be of interest to at least three teams in particular, the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys, all of whom need edge rush help.

The Niners are tied for the second-fewest sacks in the NFL and have been ravaged by injury along the edge after losing Nick Bosa and now Mykel Williams for the season, and Bryce Huff has been absent the last two games due to a hamstring issue.

The Cowboys are sitting with just 15 sacks entering Week 9 and haven't replaced the sack production lost by the Micah Parsons trade.

The Eagles will replace the now-retired Za'Darius Smith with Brandon Graham, but Philly needed to do something at edge rusher before that transpired with their 15 sacks in eight contests.

The 49ers have been linked to interest in Hendrickson in the past, and so have the Cowboys.

We haven't seen any rumors about the Eagles inquiring about Hendrickson, but we do know general manager Howie Roseman is big-game hunting for an EDGE, so it's fair to expect him to put in a call.

Whether or not the any of those three teams or another squad ends up trading for Hendrickson remains to be seen, but it at least continues to look more and more possible.
