Virginia high school baseball season, if you're reading this, it's been real.
The VHSL 2025 baseball season ended on Friday as six Virginia public school squads were crowned champions.
Here's a quick look at the standout individual performances from the semifinals and finals over the weekend.
Top performances from 2025 VHSL baseball state semifinals and finals
Jackson Baugher, Spotswood: Was steady at the plate for the high-scoring Class 3 champion, hitting 4-7 for the weekend.
Owen Chavis, Appomattox County: Got it done on both sides of the ball for the Class 2 champions. Chavis threw seven innings with just one hit, one run, and zero unearned runs allowed to beat Poquoson 3-2 in the semifinals, and he hit 2-5 for the weekend.
Aidan Delaney, Heritage: Dominated at the plate for the Class 4 champion, batting 3-6 with a walk, a double, five RBI, and one run scored.
Luke Ellison, Ocean Lakes: Pitched a gem in the Class 5 title game to win the championship, allowing just run in 8.2 innings as Ocean Lakes beat Cox 2-1 in nine innings.
Danny Gass, Spotswood: Went 2-3 in both of the Class 3 champion's last two games and scored a total of four runs.
Josh Givens, Auburn: Threw a complete game shutout as Auburn beat Fort Chiswell 10-0 in five innings via mercy rule for a Class 1 title.
Ryan Gocio, Ocean Lakes: Was one of many Dolphins to dazzle at the dish in a 17-10 Class 5 semifinals victory over Riverbend, and also came up clutch when they beat Cox 2-1 in the finals. Gocio finished the weekend 3-5 with two walks, four RBI, and two runs scored.
Brady Hoover, Spotswood: Led Spotswood to a 10-3 Class 3 semifinals rout of Kettle Run, tossing a complete game on the mound and hitting 2-3 with a walk and four RBI.
Patrick Lyons, Woodrove: Was a force on offense for the Class 4 finalist, hitting 2-5 with a walk, a home run, a double, three RBI, and three runs scored.
Cooper Miskelly, Heritage: Might've been the toughest out of the weekend, going 4-5 with a walk, two RBI, a double, and two runs scored for Class 4's top dog.
Aaron Ritenour, Gainesville: Powered Gainesville to a dramatic 8-6 win over rival Battlefield in the Class 6 championship, going 2-4 with a home run and four RBI.
Aaron Van Tuyle, Heritage: Shut out Atlee with just four hits allowed in the semifinals and scored two runs on two walks to help beat Woodgrove for the Class 4 crown.
