Kendrick Lamar and “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have delayed their upcoming live-action comedy indefinitely. It was scheduled for release on March 20, 2026.
The indefinite postponement was met with varied responses from netizens on X, with one user claiming the push was due to the hype dying.
"Lol they saw that the hype is dying …. Kendrick needs to diss Drake again or a new gimmick soon."@Kurrco Lol they saw that the hype is dying …. Kendrick needs to diss Drake again or a new gimmick soon.
Several fans referenced Kendrick Lamar's 2024 beef with Drake, suggesting that the project was delayed as Lamar allegedly lost relevance after the talk surrounding the beef died down.
@Kurrco Even Drake couldn’t carry this fall off
@Kurrco With time the jokes begin to write themselves. South Park can do the funniest thing by linking with Drake...but I'm not try a push that agenda
@Kurrco The Drake and beef stimmy has died down
@Kurrco Kendrick not hot no more 😭
Meanwhile, others tried to explain why the movie was indefinitely postponed.
@Kurrco The reasoning btw it’s still happening it’s just Kendrick is extending his tour while also working on music so scheduling don’t add up
@Kurrco Take your time goat
Additionally, one X user felt that the project was only a "conversation/concept." Meanwhile, a fan stated they would prefer more music from Kendrick Lamar than a movie.
@Kurrco Wasn’t enough details on this I felt like it was only a conversation/concept they discussed
@Kurrco Cool, we don’t want it anyways, we want more music.
