Smriti Mandhana emerged as the leading run-getter in the Women’s World Cup 2025

Smriti Mandhana has timed her wedding to perfection after emerging as the highest run-scorer for the Women in Blue in the 2025 World Cup. The Indian vice-captain amassed 434 runs in nine innings at an average of 54.25, including one century and two fifties. The 29-year-old slammed 109 off 95 balls against New Zealand in a must-win game for India, which helped them reach the semifinals. She only finished behind South Africa captain, Laura Woolvaardt, who scored 571 runs in the 50-over ICC event.

Last year, Mandhana led the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to their first-ever trophy across men’s and women’s cricket since the 2008 edition. It was their second season in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). One year later, the Rajat Patidar-led side won the title in 2025.

Notably, the Bengaluru-based franchise has retained Mandhana for INR 3.5 crore. She became the highest-paid Indian player to be retained ahead of the WPL 2026 auction.
