Riley Gaines got candid on the debate over trans men vs trans women. The swimmer-turned-social activist recently had a conversation with American writer Clay Travis, who is also the founder of the Outkick portal.

Travis shared a post from celebrated author JK Rowling on his X account [formerly Twitter], where she shed light on how some mainstream magazines are promoting the idea that trans women are better than actual women.

Travis shared his own question on this issue as he wrote in the X post,

"Interesting question : why are women pretending to be men pretty much ignored, but men pretending to be women are celebrated? I'd argue it's because men aren't willing to put up with the fake men b******t. Women are being taken advantage of and mocked by all of this."

Riley Gaines endorsed his claims as she replied in the comments' section,

"@ClayTravis That! Plus the men demanding women accept them as "women" are the same assertive, dominant men they've always been. The women identifying as men are the same docile, apologetic women they've always been.Men and women are different beyond physiology."

Riley Gaines previously discussed the comments made by Democratic politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on her swimming career. In an interview with 'Fox and Friends' on Fox News, the 25-year-old swimmer-turned-social activist revealed that forget her or the Republican party, even the majority of the Democratic party members would agree that it is wrong to force the inclusion of men in women's sports.

Riley Gaines previously delivered a bold message to the media, who labeled her an 'anti-trans-activist'. The 25-year-old swimmer-turned-social activist was referring to the headline posted by The New York Post on their X timeline, which they deleted later.

According to the original headline, The New York Post shared the news of Gaines' giving birth to a female child, as,

"Anti-trans athlete activist Riley Gaines gives birth to daughter,"

Gaines responded to the same by mentioning on her TikTok account,

"This is just your daily reminder that you don't hate the media enough. If you follow my TikTok or Instagram or X, you would know that I delivered our beautiful baby girl a few days ago. There have been some fantastic articles that have put out there, like this one from Fox. But then there has also been articles put out by outlets like the New York Post that feature headlines that say this. Couple things. Number one, this rhetoric is so tired, and the American people see through it. Now, to be pro-woman, why do those things have to go hand in hand? And if that's the case, then would it be anti-women to be pro-trans? And what do we call someone who is anti-woman? We'd call them a misogynist. So are you telling us our options are either being a transphobe or a misogynist?"

Riley Gaines gave birth to a girl in October 2025, whom she named Margot. Gaines has been married to her batchmate from the University of Kentucky, Louis Barker, since 2022.
