Tetairoa McMillan injury update creates last-minute concern for Panthers WR

The Carolina Panthers now have an injury concern with wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan ahead of the Week 17 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

On Sunday morning, the Panthers announced that McMillan has been added to the injury report with an illness and is now questionable to play.

"Rookie wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan was added to the injury report Sunday morning before the game against the Seahawks," the Panthers revealed.

"McMillan was added due to illness and is listed as questionable for today's game against Seattle," Carolina concluded.

McMillan was on the injury report this week, but for rest-related purposes, so the illness is something brand new.

Usually, we wouldn't be concerned with a player's status when their battling an illness during the week, but given the fact that it's a new issue on Sunday, that adds more concern than usual.

We saw a pair of player sit out on Christmas Day due to an illness, including Detroit Lions left tackle Taylor Decker and Washington Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez.

Like McMillan, Rodriguez and Decker were added to the injury report on gameday with their illnesses and didn't end up suiting up.

It remains to be seen if McMillan will suffer the same fate. We'll know for sure when the Panthers drop their inactives around 11:30 a.m. ET on Sunday.
