Joe Burrow walked into Paycor Stadium on Sunday with a blue bag that had an interesting label attached. The words "bag of fossils" were visible on it as the Bengals quarterback prepared for Cincinnati's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Fans had plenty to say on X about Burrow's arrival.

"Going to be a good game, he's not dressed goofy," one fan wrote.

"Lol people still watching?" aone fan commented fan. "Tell fossil boy to sling that sh*t to JaMarr. I need this fantasy championship," another fan said.

Cincinnati (5-10) has been eliminated from the playoff race for the third consecutive season. Burrow missed most of the year with turf toe before coming back late in November. He has appeared in six games since his return, completing 63.5% of his throws while tossing a dozen scores against four picks.

Questions about whether Burrow stays with the organization have grown louder as losses piled up.

Trade talk heats up around Joe Burrow

CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones wrote on Saturday that teams around the league are preparing to call Cincinnati about Joe Burrow once the offseason begins. People close to the situation told Jones that the quarterback wants to stay put.

Jones broke down potential trade scenarios. League insiders informed him that most franchises would at least explore swapping for Burrow.

The money and contractual language create serious obstacles. Burrow inked a five-year, $275 million extension in September 2023. Four years remain on that agreement, each carrying a salary north of $25 million. He controls his destination completely, thanks to a contract clause that prevents trades through 2029 without his approval.

Burrow spoke about his situation earlier this month. He said he couldn't see himself wearing different colors in 2026.
