Taxi Driver 3 episodes 11–12 recap: Rainbow Taxi uncovers a ruthless scam ring that leads to a deadly mastermind and a chilling island secret
Episodes 11 and 12 of Taxi Driver 3 focus on a large-scale second-hand marketplace scam and gradually reveal a much darker criminal network operating behind it. The case begins when Chief Choi meets Maria. She tells him about an eight-year-old girl who has been recently adopted.
When the girl’s adoptive father falls seriously ill, she decides to buy him a pair of leather gloves as a gift spending all her savings on the purchase. But when the package arrives, it contains only a brick. The child now asks Chief Choi to get her the gloves finding the people who have scammed her.

In the process, he ends up losing his own money and not getting any lead. Realising the scale of the problem, he returns to the team, and a proper investigation begins.
While tracing the address from which the scam package is sent, Kim Do-gi and Go-eun encounter a woman attempting to take her own life. They intervenes in time and rush her to the hospital. There, she shares her story.
She was pregnant a few months earlier and relied entirely on her husband financially. To save money, she turned to second-hand marketplaces to buy baby products.
However, istead of receiving what she ordered, she found a photo of two fish and a brick inside the box. When she reported the incident to the police, they dismissed it as a common scam and told her not to expect her money back.
Determined to warn others, she posted the seller’s ID, listings, and tracking details on a community site. Every time the scammer listed a new item, she commented to expose them.

They also ordered large amounts of food in her name without paying, leaving her with the bills. Complaints were filed against her and people around her started believing she was a con artist.
Even the police refused to listen to her. She had to move out, her husband left her, and the stress eventually caused her to lose her baby. Completely broken, she decided to end her life.
After hearing her story, the Rainbow Taxi team devises a plan. They post on an online community pretending to look for tickets to the girl group Element's concert. They express excitement in the comments to attract scammers.
The bait works, and Do-gi receives a response from a seller claiming to have the tickets. By tracing the responder, the team locates the person attempting the scam. However, he turns out to be only a low-level worker.

They also learn that whenever a worker quits, the general manager immediately posts a recruitment notice.
Using this information, the team forces the man to resign. As expected, a new vacancy appears, and Go-eun successfully infiltrates the scam ring by getting hired. As part of the plan, Go-eun pretends to sell Element tickets to Do-gi.
She completes the transaction and receives the payment, but deliberately uses her own bank account instead of the scam ring’s account. When the general manager notices this, he becomes furious and demands the money.
Go-eun refuses and quits instead. This enrages the general manager, who begins harassing her in the same way he tormented the previous victim. However, Go-eun remains unfazed, having anticipated this reaction.
Furious by her reaction the general manager eventually confronts her in person. She overpowers him, forcing him to flee and Do-gi quickly follows him to his house and knocks him out with a punch.
Still from Taxi Driver 3 (Image via Instagram/@sbsdrama.official)Inside the house, Do-gi finds piles of products that has been listed online but never delivered. Rainbow Taxi team, then deliveries them to the rightful buyers who have paid but received nothing.
The case takes a darker turn when it is revealed that someone operates above the general manager. After he regains consciousness, he receives a package, which he believes will help counter the ransomware Go-eun has planted in the system.
Do-gi warns him not to open it, sensing danger, but the man ignores the warning and soon after opening the package the hidden bomb inside explodes, killing the general manager instantly. Do-gi suffers temporary tinnitus from the blast but quickly rushes outside and spots a seafood truck leaving the scene.
Go-eun traces the vehicle and discovers that it belongs to a seafood restaurant in the far north of the country. She also finds that the same truck has recently delivered a lantern to a temple located on an island even farther north.
Suspicious of this, Do-gi and Seung-cheol travel to the island and check into an inn before visiting the temple. While inspecting the inside of the temple, Do-gi notices that the lanterns resemble ledgers with names written on them.
Still from Taxi Driver 3 (Image via Instagram/@sbsdrama.official)Soon, a police officer comes there and accuses them of trespassing on private property, forcing them to leave. When they return to their taxi, they find an unknown man sitting inside, asking for a lift. During the ride, he introduces himself as a photographer and comments on how strange the island’s residents are before getting off midway.
Back at the inn, Do-gi and Seung-cheol discover another man inside their room holding a bloodied fish bucket and asking if they caught any fish. They report the incident, but the inn manager dismisses their concerns.
The next day, seeing the photographer and the man from their room leaving the island together with police officers, Do-gi returns to the temple seizing the opportunity. Inside a hidden room, he finds pile of passports, photo IDs, and identification documents belonging to many people.
He also discovers multiple monitors showing CCTV footage from various locations. He realises that they have uncovered a massive criminal operation far beyond a simple online scam.
Episode 12 of Taxi Driver 3 ends with Chief Choi returning the leather gloves to the young girl. As she happily gifts them to her sick adoptive father, moved by it Chief Choi tears up.
