After a torrid start to his Ferrari journey, Lewis Hamilton's tenure at the team is expected to be a timid one after reports about the partnership possibly ending after 2026 swirl the web. Subsequently, fans reacted to such speculations and shared their take on the possible change of tides lying ahead of the seven-time champion.

Hamilton arrived at Ferrari after a bombshell announcement, which saw Carlos Sainz having to find another home on the F1 grid to make way for the incoming Briton. Moreover, the Italian giant had brought on the former Mercedes driver with the hopes of fighting for championships.

However, ground reality has been starkly different, where Hamilton has now become the driver who has gone the longest before scoring a podium for Ferrari. All the while, even Sainz was able to claim a top-three finish in the Grand Prix format with Williams, showcasing the two ends of the spectrum in F1.

With Ferrari junior Ollie Bearman impressing the paddock at the Mexican GP, rumors started spooling around the motorhomes about a possible change in the driver lineup at Maranello on the horizon. Fans then shared their reaction to such rumors and wrote on X:

"Makes perfect sense. He's well under par, especially given his status, salary and expectations. TeamLH will lose their marbles over this, but it would be very logical and sensible."

"Ferrari needs wins not PR. And Hamilton could do it, but apparently their car is .1% sucky," one fan wrote. "He had a great run…," another fan wrote.

Fans further added:

"This time next year this would have made sense, but with the new regs coming i dunno, but they do need to move on though with younger talent," one netizen wrote. "Presumably Ferrari has never heard the phrase "It's a poor carpenter who blames his tools," another netizen wrote. "Hard Times for Hamilton Ahead," a third netizen shared.

Lewis Hamilton has four race weekends to go in his debut Ferrari season and to possibly secure a podium with the Italian manufacturer.

Lewis Hamilton had his best qualifying of the year so far at the Mexican GP. However, due to a host of factors, he took the checkered flag down in eighth.

The 40-year-old had to contend with another subpar weekend, but the upcoming race in Brazil could boost his morale, as he is one of the most revered drivers there. Even the Briton is eager to race in front of the Sau Paulo crowd, as he said (via Ferrari):

"I’m looking forward to Brazil - it’s one of my favourite places to race and I can’t wait to be there in red for the first time."

Lewis Hamilton sits sixth in the interim standings, 64 points behind teammate Charles Leclerc.
