Max Verstappen has called out the British media and its supposed bias several times in the F1 sphere, and he also jibed at them after winning the 2024 Brazilian GP. The Dutchman started 17th and came through the field to win the race, and in the post-race press conference, took a dig at them by claiming he didn't see any personnel from the British press to question him after the race.

At the 2024 edition of the Brazilian GP, many had anticipated a change of tides in the drivers' standings. Lando Norris and Verstappen seemed to be in a championship fight, and the Briton had qualified on pole, while the Red Bull driver was slated to start 17th for the raceday.

But as the race went underway, the reigning champion put up a magnificent drive en route to victory. On a day when losing a huge chunk of championship points seemed to be on the cards for Verstappen, his pace in the wet altered this possibility.

So, after the race, the Red Bull driver was quick to jibe back at the British media who had posted several stories about the Dutchman's 2024 title pursuit, and said in the post-race press conference:

"I have a quick question here. I appreciate all of you being here, but I don't see any British press? They had to run to the airport? Or they don't know where the press conference is?"

Max Verstappen and the British media have a long and troubled history with each other.

Max Verstappen has expressed his frustration with various aspects of F1 over the years. One such issue has been the portrayal of the F1 sphere and its narratives by the British media.

This happened at the 2025 Canadian GP weekend. The Dutchman arrived at the venue on the verge of being possibly banned from a race due to the penalty points that he had accumulated.

Moreover, he had countered this question numerous times earlier in the weekend, also. So when he was again asked about it after the qualifying at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, he exasperatedly replied in the press conference:

"I don’t need to hear it again. It’s really pissing me off. I mean, you were speaking about it on Thursday. It’s such a waste of time. It’s very childish. So, that’s why I also don’t want to say too much because it’s really annoying, this world that we live in."

On the other hand, since then, Verstappen's position in the drivers' standings has improved as he was 43 points behind the championship lead back then, and now he is 36 markers behind the table topper.
